Abwoon - Yeshua's prayer in Aramaic before it got edited into “The Lord’s prayer”, and what the original version teaches

Instead of a plea to a distant God, the prayer that Yeshua left to us is a map for embodied unity, presence and co-creation. A technology of light meant to empower us.


Abwoon d'bwashmaya
O Birther! Father-Mother of the Cosmos, you create all that moves in light. 

Just as we are born from Mother and Father, the Divine Source is both Mother and Father, without gender. This brings the Mother back into sacredness.


God is everywhere, creates everything. God is not somewhere in heaven, while we are here on earth. No separation.


Nethqadash shmakh
Focus your light within us--make it useful: as the rays of a beacon show the way.

We actively ask for the divine light to be focused within, 

rather than sanctifying a separate name that has been given to divinity by the institution of the church.


We pray for us, not for ourselves, because we understand that together we are one.


The light needs to be useful, to show the way. We do not seek enlightenment to be enlightened, but to walk the path as well as possible.


Teytey malkuthakh
Create your reign of unity now--through our firey hearts and willing hands.

The reign is of unity, of the whole, all of us, all of life together in one unit. 

Not the kingdom of one ruling lord.


The reign is created moment by moment. Now. We do not wait for it to come on a special day in the future.


The reign is created through our fiery hearts - hearts with the divine eternal flame lit, passionate and alive - and willing hands - willing, active, not stretched out to beg.


Nehwey sebyanach aykanna d'bwashmaya aph b'arha.
Your one desire then acts with ours, as in all light, so in all forms.

There is one divine desire. We place our personal will in unison with divine will. Our individual wills may be different, but united, they become one divine will - in harmony for all.


Divine will needs our personal will in order to act.


As the will flows in light, so it flows in all forms. We recognise the flow of divine will in all forms, both in what we like about what is manifested in our lives and what we do not.


To change what no longer serves, we exercise our free will and align it with divine will. 

This involves clarity, ownership, action, patience, acceptance, respect and harmony with everything.


Habwlan lachma d'sunqanan yaomana.
Grant what we need each day in bread and insight: subsistence for the call of growing life.

“Grant” is neutral, without the implied scarcity of “give”. 


“Give us” implies that we don’t have, but there is something separate from us that has, so we pray that he will give. Abundance seems separate and conditioned by an external will.


“Give us this day” implies that tomorrow we don’t know whether you will give it or not, so we live in fear of tomorrow. These subtle things keep us in poverty.


“Grant” implies that everything we need already exists and is granted - made available, according to the will and need of each present moment. Abundance exists and our access to it flows neutrally.


It’s not the bare minimum daily bread, but what we need every day.


Not just bread - material things, but also understanding, wisdom, clear vision.


Both bread and insight are nourishment for the call of life’s growth. This gives direction to what we consume, food or information, to nourish life and the call to its growth.


It is a call, not a mission. We feel the call subtly and it moves us forward. We nourish ourselves to nourish the growth of life in the unique way in which we are called.


Washboqlan khaubayn (wakhtahayn)aykana daph khnan shbwoqan l'khayyabayn. 
Loose the cords of mistakes binding us,as we release the strands we hold of others' guilt. 

Liberation does not happen because God forgives us, but because we focus the light on the cords that bind us, and we let go of blame and guilt. This invites exiting the victim consciousness.


Wela tahlan l'nesyuna

Don't let us enter forgetfulness

Forgetfulness is the loss of light, it is inertia, entropy, autopilot, lack of presence. Here we ask to remain present in co-creation with the divine light in every moment.


Forgetfulness is something we enter, it is not the status quo. 

We do not fall, we are not led - we enter. Responsibility is preserved.


God does not lead us into temptation. The only thing that can … is forgetting the light…


Ela patsan min bisha.
But free us from unripeness

When we are present, the divine light ripens the fruit of life within us, and life is delicious and always ready on time.


Unripeness is leading from the ego, wanting to be ahead of life.


Unripeness is also considering ourselves unprepared for the divine call that is granted moment by moment.


No “temptation”, no “delivering”, no “evil one”. Only forgetfulness and unripeness.


How present we remain in the divine light, how ripe we are moment by moment.


Metol dilakhie malkutha wahayla wateshbukhta l'ahlam almin. 
From you is born all ruling will, the power and the life to do,the song that beautifies all, from age to age it renews.

The expression “Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory” implies separation. Leadership, power, and glory are given outwardly to the name that the church has given to divinity.


Instead, we recognise that from the Divine Mother-Father (the all-creating light that is also within) is born

all ruling will

the power and life to do

the song that beautifies all.


The will, leadership, power, and life remain within us, we have only recognised their source.


No glory, praise or victory. 

A song of beauty and renewal.


Ameyn.
Truly--power to these statements--may they be the source from which all my actions grow. Sealed in trust & faith. Amen.

Prayer is a practice. The words are empowered and declared true. Thus they can create. 

The prayer is a seed, it is consecrated to be the source from which actions grow. 

And it is sealed with trust and faith.
